Kalangadoo claimed a comfortable victory over Nangwarry in Round 15 of Mid South East netball.

Both sides entered the game with a number of key players out but the league-leaders flexed their strength with a dominant performance.

The Magpies got the early jump on the Saints when Kori Collins made the most of a turnover from the home side to give Kalangadoo the lead.

Kate Biszko and Demi Ingley worked tirelessly in defence for Nangwarry as they attempted to stop the Magpies’ sharpshooter.

However, pinpoint passing from Kirsty Egan and Jayde Peacock, meant Collins was able to get plenty of opportunities early on.

Kylie Heaver worked hard for Nangwarry and drove the ball down the court well.

Heaver fed the ball to Ange Pratt and Tahlia Wilson with ease as the Saints trailed by six goals at the end of the first quarter.

Kalangadoo asserted its dominance in the second quarter when it scored the first four goals of the term.

Sophie Wrightson had a great battle with Heaver and did her best to stop Heaver’s drive into the circle.

Collins was on fire and was supported in the goal circle by Anthea Paterson, which made life difficult for the Nangwarry defenders.

Peacock and Hayley Burner had a good tussle in the centre and both fed the ball well down the court for their teams, while Georgia Gentile and Reanna

Wetherall worked tirelessly in defence to limit the impact of Pratt and Wilson.

The away side went into the main break with a comfortable 10-goal lead.

In the third quarter, the Magpies got off to a strong start and made numerous intercepts in the defensive end, which they converted into goals.

Collins stood out again for Kalangadoo as she shot with high accuracy and continued to be well supported by Paterson.

Egan had an impressive quarter, which meant Nangwarry struggles to get the ball down the court.

The Saints were made to pay for their errors and the Magpies extended their lead to 17 goals at three-quarter time.

Nangwarry entered the final quarter with nothing to lose as Kate Biszko and Ingley worked hard to create turnovers for the home side.

Pratt and Wilson made the most of the turnovers as the Saints continued to fight until the end.

Nangwarry managed to outscore Kalangadoo in the final quarter as the away side claimed a 16-goal win.

Wetherall and Egan were the best on court with strong performance for the Magpies.
