THE Mount Gambier Golf Club has two sides in the 2022 Golf South East Pennant semi-finals after crucial wins in the final round.

In a grudge match for the ages, Mount Gambier Red will take on Mount Gambier Black for a spot in the grand final, while Lucindale will battle Port MacDonnell in the other semi-final.

The semi-finals will take place this Sunday at the Millicent Golf Club.

The last round was played in poor conditions as golfers had to battle cold and wet weather at the Mount Gambier Golf Club recently.

Mount Gambier Red snuck into top spot after a tight 4-3 win over Penola, which included two matches which were decided on the 19th hole.

Penola could consider itself unlucky, as a win in those games would have booked it a place in the finals.

In the second Conference 1 game, Mount Gambier Black finished strongly to defeat Blue Lake 5-2.

Setio Shanahan had an impressive win to finish the season on a high.

Millicent came from behind to claim a narrow 4-3 victory over Southern Ports.

Despite wins in the first three games for Southern Ports, the last four were dominated by Millicent to clinch the match.

Jack Nunan put in another impressive performance as he claimed the win in a game where he was the underdog.

In Conference 2, Lucindale finished in top spot, despite a 4-3 loss to Mount Gambier Red.

John Gosling and Darren Keding were the best players for Mount Gambier Red.

Mount Gambier Black and Blue lake played off for the last spot in finals.

Mount Gambier used its home-course advantage to full use and claimed a comfortable win over Blue Lake.

Stacy Parsons an Stacey Fiegert were the best performers for Mount Gambier, while Bill Burley and Trevor Little had impressive wins for Blue Lake.

The final game saw Naracoorte claim a comfortable 6-1 win over Kingston.

Chris Moyle, Willy Hyslop and Chop Waihope all impressed for Naracoorte, while Milan Hodak continued his strong form, with the only win for Kingston.

After this weekend’s semi-finals, the grand final will be played at Naracoorte the weekend after.

The final minor round concluded with the presentation of the Pennant Team of the Year from each conference.
