Roosters take on young Hawks

SHOOTER: Robe's Sarah Laurie will be a player to watch in the circle in this weekend's game against Kongorong.

Kongorong hosts Robe on Saturday for Round 14 of Mid South East netball and the young Hawks side will make the Roosters earn their win.

The third-placed Robe will head into the clash full of confidence and will believe they can get a result against the eight-placed Hawks.

When these two sides faced off in Round 5, the Roosters claimed a 52-goal win at home.

However, Kongorong will look to continue its momentum from Round 13, where it comfortably defeated Nangwarry.

The Roosters will look to go one better than the last round, where they drew with Glencoe at home.

Tilah Buckingham’s height will make it easy for Kate Wright and Tori McIntyre to feed the ball from outside the circle.

Robe’s Halle Carter has stepped into the goal circle and has shot with accuracy to earn the goal attack bib, she will combine with Sarah Laurie in attack.

Emma Grant and Ellen Ramke have worked tirelessly in the defensive circle this season for Robe and will make Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey earn every goal.

Down the other end of the court, Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody will keep the pressure on for Robe’s goalies and will do their best to shut down any opportunities to score.

Despite a strong fight from the Hawks, the Roosters will have enough strength to come away with the win.
