Pressure rises

Glencoe and Robe will go head-to-head in Round 13 of Mid South East netball on Saturday.

Robe v Glencoe

The Mid South East netball match of the round sees Robe host Glencoe, with both teams coming off wins last weekend.

The Round 13 match-ups across the court will be entertaining, with Donna Jaeschke and Annie Hunter battling in the centre and down the court, creating turnovers for their respective teams.

Glencoe’s Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz are a formidable goalie combination and their accuracy will not leave many rebounds for Robe’s Ellen Ramke and Emma Grant.

At the other end of the court Robe’s new goalie combination of Halle Carter and Sarah Laurie is one to watch, as they combine well and both shoot with accuracy.

Glencoe’s Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks will work tirelessly to limit the potential for Robe’s shooters to score and will fight for every rebound.

The outcome of this entertaining game could go either way.

Nangwarry v Kongorong

After a close match-up in Round 4, Nangwarry and Kongorong will both look to come away with the points this weekend.

Nangwarry’s Shannon Higgins and Carly Ploenges will put the pressure on for Kongorong goalies Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey.

The strength of Ebony Lawson in the centre for the Saints will force turnovers in the mid-court, creating opportunities for Tahlia Wilson and Ange Pratt to score.

Kongorong’s Kate Wright and Rach Perry deliver the ball strongly into their goalies, feeding with accuracy from outside the circle.

Riley Buckingham’s pressure in and around the goal will create difficulties for Nangwarry’s mid-court.

In a tight contest either team has the ability and potential to finish the game with the points.

Port MacDonnell v Mount Burr

Mount Burr makes the trip down to the Bay this weekend, where they will hope to get another win under their belts but Port MacDonnell will not go down without a fight.

Despite their young age, Madi Haggett and Olivia Dean are one of the most dominant defensive combinations in the league this season, with both working hard to create turnovers and secure rebounds.

Port MacDonnell’s Belinda O’Dine and Alana Winter will have to work hard to curb the influence of Ebony Clark in the goal circle, while limiting Zoe Brown’s options at goal.

Kirby Carrison and Brooke Williams combine well in the goal circle for the Demons but will have to fight for every opportunity against Mount Burr’s defence.

After another tough battle, Mount Burr will finish the day with the win.

Tantanoola v Hatherleigh

Hatherleigh heads to Tantanoola with something to prove after their Round 4 loss against the Tigers.

Tantanoola’s Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe are a tough defensive combination, while Hatherleigh’s Abby Wight and Maddie Pulmer will have to score from every opportunity, fighting for rebounds and loose balls.

Hatherleigh’s Demi Vanderhorst and Lara MacGregor’s pressure in the defensive circle will mean Tantanoola’s Casey Walker and Madi Kelly will have to work hard to feed their goalies accurately.

Emma Gould and Jami Walker’s accurate shooting is a focal point for the Tigers and will force Vanderhorst and MacGregor to be on their game to limit scoring opportunities.

After another tough game, the Tigers will come away with the points.
