Dogs favoured over Cats

East Gambier v Casterton Sandford

EAST Gambier showed red-hot form last weekend, coming out of the blocks like a team possessed.

Western Border netball finals are fast approaching and last round was a must-win for the Bulldogs.

Emily Hunter was at her dynamic best, Tarsh McCallum was on song, while Sarah Lock and Amryn Bosko have started to find their mojo as a shooting combination.

Tyne Bosko, Chloe Perryman – who will no doubt step aside for the return of Bo Creek – and Morgan Amy were stifling with their pressure and brave with their willingness to hunt for interceptions.

As such it looms as a tough road trip for Casterton Sandford this week.

The Cats would be buoyed by scoring 40 goals last weekend against Millicent.

They will need the likes of Scarlett Jarrad, Ebany Jarrad and Caeleigh Humphries to try and slow the ball movement of the Bulldogs, which was at its slick best last weekend.

Ivy Lane and Madalene Cleary, who continue to work well as a shooting combination, will need to be patient to find a way through the tough East defence.

East will take the points but after last week’s improved performance, the Cats will have their own goals in mind to continue their 2022 development.
