Casterton Sandford v Millicent

MILLICENT will be out for redemption when travels to play Casterton Sandford tomorrow in Round 12 of Western Border football.

The Saints stumbled against South Gambier last weekend in the anticipated top-of-the-table battle and will be eager to bounce back in a big way.

Last time the two sides met the Cats pushed the Saints at McLaughlin Park.

The final margin was a slim four points and had the game gone for a few minutes more, the result would probably have gone the other way.

Millicent will need to rediscover its intensity if it is to keep its winning record in tact against the Victorians.

High pressure around the ball will be a must, which is something both teams are more than capable of at their best.

Millicent’s Kade Bradley was a light in a dreary performance last week and his energy and defensive efforts were first class.

His brother Frazer Bradley has also been in form, while the likes of Eli Redman, Dylan Bromley and Sam Willis will all look to build on a strong few weeks.

The last home game for the Cats handed them an upset win over North Gambier, while last week’s visit to West Gambier resulted in an 18-point loss.

There is no denying Casterton Sandford has shown improvement as the season progresses and it is still well in the hunt for finals contention.

Billy Galpin has been in strong form of late, while it was Jack Thompson who excelled off the half back line to earn the best-on-ground honours against the Roos.

Diarmid Cleary has been another consistent performer this season and has been tearing up the half forward line the last two rounds.

Past meetings between the teams have been physical contests and the same can be expected this week.

While the Saints will be favoured for the win, if the Cats bring their best they could make them earn it.
