A CAT fight at Island Park looms for Casterton Sandford and North Gambier this round.

The Tigers sit in third place on the ladder and should record their fifth win when they visit the Cats tomorrow.

Casterton Sandford has yet to post a win despite steady improvement across the first nine rounds.

The side will be hungry for that elusive win and might be able to push the Tigers if it brings its best.

North was understaffed in its Round 9 outing and relied on some junior talent.

As such the return of star shooter Caroline Wakefield will be hoped for, while Mel Renko was also absent last round.

Wakefield has been explosive under the post this season and has combined well with A Grade newbie Macey Griffith.

The Cats’ defence will be under relentless pressure and they will rely heavily on the likes of young talent Ebany Jarrad and Caeleigh Humphries.

Jarrad will enter the clash hot off a country championship winning performance in the 17 and Under Western Border representative team.

She has been vital for the Cats this year, while down the other end Madelene Cleary continues to be a focal point in attack.

Scarlett Jarrad can always be relied on in the mid-court and her battle with Brianna Walters will be pivotal.

Libby Howe-Morgan and Lauran Newman compliment Walters with plenty of pace through the middle and they will look to create good connection into attack.

The Tigers should earn the points but will need to keep the pressure on the hosts for the entire match.
