LEAGUE-LEADERS South Gambier will head to Malseed Park on Saturday to take on West Gambier in Round 10 of Western Border football.

The Roos enter the game in promising form, after a win in Round 9 over East Gambier and only lost by nine points to Millicent in Round 8.

South has set the benchmark this season, with eight wins to date.

The Demons head into this clash off the back of a 64-point win over Casterton Sandford in Round 9 and will look to continue its dominance into the back half of the season.

These two sides faced off in Round 5, where the Demons claimed a 34-point win.

However, it was not all smooth sailing for South, as West held an early lead at quarter time and trailed by only eight points at the main break.

The hosts will need to limit the impact of Brayden Kain, who has kicked 29 goals this season, including six the last time these two met.

Brock Keding and Kaleb Bowd put in impressive performances for South and were amongst the Demons’ best players.

Kain will be assisted by Nelson Forbes in the forward line, who has got his A Grade career off to a flying start with seven goals in just three games.

Michael Minuzzo has been in impressive form this season.

He was named West’s best player in the reverse fixture between the two sides and was man of the match when the Roos defeated East in Round 9.

The Roos will enter the game full of confidence after its improved run of form of late and with home-ground advantage, could prove to be a potential banana-skin for the Demons.

However, South will ultimately prove too strong and continue its charge at the top of the ladder.
