Port MacDonnell kept its winning form running when they comfortably accounted for Glencoe in Round 9 of Mid South East football on Saturday.

The Demons had taken care of business last round against a tough Hatherleigh outfit and despite a shaky start on Saturday, ran out emphatic victors over the Murphies.

Glencoe had the majority of possession inside 50 in the opening term and turned that into a four-point advantage at the first break.

Four behinds hurt the Murphies on the scoreboard but any lead in such conditions would have been welcomed.

However, the Demons soon found their range and began to pepper the goals, with five majors and four minors scores in the second term to claim the lead by a handy 22 points.

That run continued in the third term but the Murphies also found something extra, as both sides added five majors to the score sheets.

With Glencoe trailing by 24 points at the final break, the game was certainly not decided but the Demons put an end to it in the final stanza.

Port MacDonnell banged on another six major scores, while holding Glencoe to just one and ran out comfortable victors.

Jake Turner was impressive up forward with six majors, while Ned Wilke (3), Tim Sullivan (2) and Alex Ridding (2) all kicking multiple goals.

For the Murphies it was coach Thomas Edwards and Henry Smith who kept the hopes alive with two majors each.
