THERE was plenty of action at the Blue Lake Golf Club last Wednesday when the monthly medal for May was run, along with fourth and final round of the Collins Court Butcher Captain’s Trophy and the first round of the State-run International Bowl.

The strategically placed pins on some holes proved to be a challenge for competitors on the day.

Sue Agars put in a strong performance as she finished with a score of three under her handicap.

Agars started on the back nine with pars 10th, and 12th holes, as well as a birdie on the 14th.

She continued her impressive from into the front nine with a par on the fifth hole and finished with a score of 69.

Helen Stratford finished in second place, two shots behind Agars.

Stratford started on the back nine with pars on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes.

She backed her impressive back nine up with pars on the fifth and ninth holes to end with a score of 71.

Helen Myers was one shot behind Stratford in third place.

Myers scored pars on the third and fifth holes.

Lynette Hirth was victorious in Division 2 when she finished with a score of 73, just one shot ahead of Rose Case in second.

Trudy Herbert and Jo Gogan were the nearest-to-pin second shot winners while Agars won the pro-shot.

Geraldine Scott claimed the win for the least putts with 25.
