MOUNT Burr enjoyed a strong victory in its Mid South East netball Round 7 clash against Nangwarry, after a solid opening term.

After both teams scored off their first centre pass, accurate shooting from Ebony Clark saw Mount Burr get a jump on the Saints.

Carly Ploenges and Hayley Vanderhorst worked tirelessly in defence for Nangwarry in an attempt to deny Clark the ball but with pin-point passing from Laura Schultz and Meg Fennell, Clark was able to claim possession and score.

Kylie Heaver worked hard for Nangwarry to drive the ball down the court and the feed to Ange Pratt and Tahlia Wilson was accurate.

However, Mount Burr made the most of its opportunities and went to the first break up by five goals.

The Mozzies continued to push hard after the break, with the first four goals of the second term to stretch the margin.

Clark continued her impressive form, with Zoe Brown passing off any opportunity in the goal circle Schultz and Hayley Burner displayed an entertaining tussle in the centre, with both driving the ball down the court well for their respective teams.

By half time Mount Burr had stretched its advantage to 11 goals but by no way had the game in hand.

Nangwarry lifted the intensity early in the third term, turning over numerous intercepts at the defensive end and scoring every opportunity to close the margin to three goals.

However, it was Clark who stood up again for Mount Burr with accurate shooting to hold onto the advantage.

Simone Westerman had a strong quarter, making Nangwarry struggle to get the ball down the court.

A few passing errors from the Saints saw the Mozzies capitalise and extend their lead out to 15 at the final break.

The final term saw Clark again a major focus, as she netted 12 goals and at the final whistle the Mozzies were home be 22.

Best players for the victors were Clark and Westerman, while Lawson and Wilson were best for Nangwarry.
