NORTH GAMBIER V CASTERTON SANDFORD

AFTER challenging Millicent for the first three quarters, North Gambier will look for a four-quarter performance when it hosts Casterton Sandford this weekend.

The Cats come off a promising first half against South Gambier and will also be on the hunt for a more consistent effort.

As it is for every opposition team, denying too much supply to gun shooter Caroline Wakefield will be the main priority for the Cats.

That is a task which falls not just to athletic defender Ebany Jarrad but to her team mates out the front pressuring the feeders.

Cats coach Jodie Humphries will be hopefull star mid-courter Scarlett Jarrad will be recovered from her injury and able to lead the team.

Given the North attack line includes Brianna Walters, Ash Kalantarian and Macey Griffith, Cats defenders will not be able to give them an inch.

All three are all class with ball in hand and make minimal errors.

The Cats attack line was more organised on the weekend with Madalene Cleary under the post and her combination with Charlotte Rice will only grow, while Gaby Tomkins is starting to show glimpses of her 2019 form.

Casterton Sandford will need to be patient with ball in hand, especially with Mel Renko creating plenty of turnover ball in the opening four rounds.

However, the Tigers should find themselves back on the winner’s list.
