Mount Burr 44 d Port MacDonnell 37

In another tight Mid South East netball clash, Mount Burr prevailed against a determined Port MacDonnell.

The game started evenly, with both sides scoring from their centre passes.

Pressure passing caused many turnovers, with Mount Burr shooter Ebony Clark and Port MacDonnell shooter Toni Gilmore dominating the circle for their respective teams.

The Demons took a two-goal advantage at the first break, with no changes from either side.

Port MacDonnell stepped up the intensity in the second term, as goal defence Alana Winter created many turnovers early.

Mount Burr wing attack Meg Fennell and centre Laura Schultz took some timely intercepts and Clark continued to dominated in the circle, scoring all the opportunities as the Mozzies created a one-goal advantage at the main break.

Isabelle Sneath replaced Kristy Sneath at wing defence for the Demons while the Mozzies remained unchanged.

Mount Burr continued to put themselves under pressure with their passing, while Port MacDonnell took a five-goal lead mid-way through the quarter.

Mount Burr goal defence Madi Haggett and goal keeper Olivia Dean started to get on top of the Demons’ goalies and created turnovers, while goalies Clark and Zoe Brown found their range and combined well to take a four-goal lead at the final break.

The contest was set up for a blockbuster final term but both sides struggled to capitalise on opportunities early.

Mount Burr settled first, with Schultz creating many turnovers through the centre.

The Mozzies stepped up the defensive pressure and the game went for goal-for-goal late in the quarter but the Mozzies had done enough to claim a six-goal win.

Best players for the victors were Schultz and Madi Haggett, while Winter and Narelle Lewis were best for the Demons.
