Mozzies set for another victory

Mount Burr will look to the likes of Jack Gregory to provide run and goals in the hope to knock over the reigning premiers Port MacDonnell on Saturday.

Mount Burr v Port MacDonnell

Round 4 of Mid South East football sees a change of venue for the Mount Burr v Port MacDonnell clash, due to poor grass coverage on the renovated Demons ground.

That puts the Mozzies in the hot seat to claim a win over the reigning premiers.

Mount Burr chalked up its first win in Round 3, with a strong result over Kongorong.

It was an impressive result considering the Hawks looked to have the game in hand and led by 12 points at the main break.

However, the Mozzies stepped up the pace in the third term to gain the lead and they pushed on from there.

In contrast, the Demons suffered at the hands of Kalangadoo in the grand final rematch.

Both sides have claimed just one win each this season and would be keen to remain in the winner’s circle.

Port MacDonnell struggled to find a clear passage to the forward 50 last week and will need some run out of defence and through the middle to set up the likes of Tim Sullivan.

Sullivan was kept to just two goals last week as the Demons could only muster five major scores for the game.

The Mozzies have faced their own issues up forward, with Tom Fennell injured in Round 2 a tweak up forward which paid dividends last week.

Jack Gregory and Hamish Smith lit up the scoreboard with 13 majors between them and provided a real focal point.

Coming off that big win and on their home deck again, Mount Burr should claim the points in this one after an early stoush.
