In the balance

Nangwarry will look to the likes of Jake McKeon to move the ball forward with pace against Tantanoola this weekend, with the hope of breaking its long-running winning drought.

Kongorong v Nangwarry

Could this be the week Nangwarry breaks its Mid South East football long losing streak?

Neither side has tasted victory this season, with both pushing hard and almost securing the points.

Nangwarry opened the season with a strong performance against Tantanoola, taking the game deep but were unable to secure the win.

The Saints then struggled against the powerhouse Hatherleigh but bounced back last round against Glencoe.

Again they almost pulled off the win but fell just short.

It has been a similar scenario for the Hawks, who started with a bang in Round 1 against reigning premiers Port MacDonnell but also fell just short.

Round 2 saw a big defeat at the hands of Kalangadoo, then last round they pushed Mount Burr to the limit, leading for the first half before a big third quarter from the Mozzies opened the game up.

The Saints have certainly recruited well again this year and seem to be on the brink of that breakthrough victory.

Despite having to travel to Kongorong, Nangwarry will break its drought this weekend in Round 4 and celebrate long and hard.
