CASTERTON SANDFORD v SOUTH GAMBIER

TOMORROW poses a big challenge for South Gambier A Grade netballers.

The Demons need to back up their impressive win over North Gambier on Anzac Day with a strong performance when they travel to Island Park to play Casterton Sandford in Round 4.

The Cats will have set themselves for this clash and would be hopeful to get some game time into Madalene Cleary on her return from an ACL injury and Gaby Tomkins, who has returned from pregnancy.

Combined with the strong form of Scarlett Jarrad and defender Caeleigh Humphries, the Cats will challenge their visitors.

Mikayla and Charlotte Rice also showed promise as a shooting combination last round, while the likes of Ebany Jarrad, Makayla Hutchins and Claire Foster are all young competitors who never give an inch.

However, they will take on a South line-up brimming with confidence after knocking off the Tigers.

Ellie Bouchier, in her first game for 2022, was outstanding in defence and earned herself the Shirley Underwood Medal for best on court on Monday.

Ruby Richter also played her best game for the year on the defensive wing, where she picked up critical turnover ball.

The shooting combination of Alyssa Duncan and Lara Munro also showed great composure in the Anzac clash and as such all signs point towards a Demons’ win.

That would mean another first for the club in some time if it was to claim back-to-back victories.
