THE final South East Field and Games Compak event of the summer series was held at Burrungale Park on March 31.
After heavy rain affected the February event, the 62 shooters that took part were greeted to far better conditions for shooting with 60 targets on offer for competitors.
The day was sponsored by K & S Fuels, O’Connor & Graney and Castec Rural Supplies.
Jeremy Kent claimed the Gambier Shooting Supplies High Gun with 55/60.
While AA Grade was taken out by Mark Fabris with 51/60.
It was a tight contest with Ron Rhook also finishing on 51/60 while Ken Atkin completed the top three with a score of 47/60.
Mick Banning claimed the win in the A Grade with 43/60, ahead of Chris Von Stanke and Graeme James.
B Grade was won by Brian Shelton who had a final score of 39/60, he was followed by Darren Murrel with 35/60.
Charles Wallis was close behind in third with 34/60.
C grade was dominated by Doug Rhode who claimed a nine-target win over Scott Fleming and Jordan Mervart.
The sub-junior category was also won in emphatic fashion as Shakielle Von Stanke also claimed a nine-target win.
The senior competition was won by Leigh Dunn who finished with an impressive 47/60, ahead of Chris Wright and Greg Kessegian who both finished on 39/60.
Ernie Scheidl put in a strong performance to claim the Veteran’s competition over Neville Kent and Chris Von Stanke.
Janette Densley won the women’s competition as she shot 47 targets to defeat Tasha Bellinger by two.
Kody Vanderhorst claimed the junior victory with 47/60, ahead of Declan Wright and Brody Von Stanke Dowie.
