Grand final berths set

Kybybolite will face South Gambier in the Limestone Coast Women's Football League grand final.

GRAND final berths are set in the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League after Kybybolite made short work of Mundulla in the preliminary final on Sunday.

The competition has been split into two division for the post season, with North Gambier booking a grand final berth in the B pool with its solid defeat of Kongorong.

Kybybolite was never troubled in its preliminary final, despite facing the fourth-placed Mundulla.

The first three quarters were all Kyby, as they banged on nine goals and a handful of behinds, while holding Mundulla scoreless.

Mundulla managed to score two goals in the final stanza but by then the margin was too great to consider a challenge.

By the final siren Kyby recorded a 62-point victory, with Sophie Hentschke banging on six of the side’s 11 goals.

Ella Jones was the only other multiple goal kicker, with two to her name.

Best players for the victors were Dellie Brown, Georgia Gill, Susannah Maber, Jones, Tyler Atkinson and Sophie Ford.

Best for Mundulla were Grace Langley, Kellsey Hinge, Natalie Twigden, Casey McElroy, Anna Will and Zoe Hawker.

Kybybolite will now face South Gambier in the grand final for the overall season honours.

In the pool B preliminary final North Gambier dominated the contest against Kongorong, running out 32-point victors.

Accurate kicking in front of goals ensured value for effort, with the final score 6.1 (37).

by the long break Kongorong was still in the contest, trailing by just 11 points but could only add three more behinds by the final siren.

In contrast North added four straight goals in the second half to build the lead and ensure the victory.

Dianne Wilson again stood tall up forward with four majors, while Sarah Thomson chipped in with two.

Best players for North were Lorrelle Walker, Yenna Joyce, Luca Roulstone, Chloe Perryman, Penny Coleman and Sarah Thomson.

Best for Kongorong were Hannah Kuhl-Miller, Janita Galloway, Taylor Cozzi, Kate Wright, Evie Sealey and Jade Longbottom.

North will face Casterton Sandford in the grand final for the pool B honours, with both games set down for Sunday, April 24.
