East experience favoured for win

A CHANCE to put its premiership defence back on track presents itself to East Gambier tomorrow as the Bulldogs head to Blue Lake Sports Park to play South Gambier tomorrow.

The return of premiership players Bo Creek and Tyne Bosko certainly strengthens the East defensive line, while Sarah Lock and Amryn Bosko will only improve as a shooting combination as the weeks go on.

Any team with Tarsh McCallum, Emily Hunter and Kate Dempsey running through the mid court will provide plenty of quality ball to their shooters.

If South cannot slow the Bulldogs’ ball movement it will be a long day in the defensive circle.

South’s round one shooting combination of Lara Munro and Alyssa Duncan looks tough with their speed on the drive and good understanding as they play a moving goal circle.

Young mid courters Tully McShane and Megan Reid have played a lot of netball with the duo and provide good chemistry for the Demons moving forward.

Ruby Richter also showed good form in the mid court in the opening round and could fill a defensive post if required.

Both sides look like they will take some time to settle and find their best form this season but given the experience and quality of East’s on-court leaders, the Bulldogs should record their first win of 2022.
