WARM conditions greeted Millicent bowlers for the latest round of 2-4-2 competition last week.
Despite the temperature reaching 34 degrees, 24 players took to the greens to play 20 ends of bowls.
The winners with a score of 34+17 were Peter Bateman and Arthur O’Connell, ahead of Chris Earl and John Drew with 32+20.
Other winning teams: Garth Baker/David Crase 32+13; David Botting/Derrick Lindh 31+7; Robert Radley/Malcolm Wright 31+3; Terry Lonergan/Frank Cooper 30+6.
Cooper was also lucky enough to win the Chris’s Barber Shop hair cut voucher, a regular monthly prize.
Before play began, president congratulations were handed out Sarah and Adriana Ross who won the Ladies’ Champions of Champions Pairs for the Lower South East Bowls Association at Robe.
