A WARM Saturday afternoon saw the Millicent Bandits play host to an out-of-form Tigers outfit who were searching for a win to break a three-game losing streak.

Tigers coach Karl Ransom took the ball on the hill and made it his mission to get the job started, which is how it panned out.

Tigers flew out of the blocks, with hit after hit in the first inning to see seven runs cross the plate.

It was an all-round clinical display, both in the field and in the batters box to put the poor form behind them.

A six-pitch inning in the first saw the Bandits retired and Tigers were back in the batting box with more runs to follow.

Two bats down Tigers held a 9-0 lead, while another innings of just 13 pitches saw Ransom retire the Bandits again and Tigers continued the run-fest.

Tigers made a change on the hill and Alex Reppin picked up the pace to record an impressive 10 strike outs in just four innings.

The theme continuted and it was Tigers again with run after run to see the the score board sit at 17-0 as plate umpire Sean Horrigan called time.

Tigers recorded 19 hits to just one from the Bandits.

This weekend Tigers take on South on Friday night under lights in a preview of the preliminary final just two weeks away, while the Bandits will hit the road to face Centrals Saturday afternoon.

In the other match it was all the premier team in Centrals with a 17-0 drubbing of South Indians.

A clear pattern has been established with just weeks before the grand final, as Centrals have already booked a spot in the big dance.

Tigers loom as their main danger and it will be the Indians who will have the last chance to cause an upset in what shapes as a cracking final few weeks before the finals begin.

In the Under 13 Gold division a special mention goes to Tigers’ Titan Dumigan who recorded a rare feature and every kid’s dream Saturday afternoon when he knocked in a Grand Slam homerun.
