STRENGTH: Port MacDonnell's Mark Smith keeps his hands free and looks for an option during the Demons win over Robe on the weekend.

Kalangadoo 21.21 (147) d Kongorong 4.4 (28)

THERE was never really any doubt Kalangadoo would claim the points against Kongorong in Round 17 of Mid South East football, but a nine-goal haul from spearhead Michael Krieger ensured it was done with ease.

Krieger was unstoppable in front of goals, as was the remainder of the Magpies around the ground.

A slow start provided a glimmer of hope for Kongorong, as the magpies went to the first break with a 10-point lead.

However, from there it was all Kalangadoo, as the Magpies opened the game up with eight second-quarter goals to just two from the Hawks.

Kongorong would only score one more major for the game, as Kalangadoo added a further five in the third quarter and six in the final stanza to run the game out with style.

Krieger was joined by Tye McManus with four goals, while Lachy Jones and Justin Mansell kicked two each.

No Kongorong player kicked multiple goals.

Port MacDonnell 16.5 (101) d Robe 11.7 (73)

Port MacDonnell leapfrogged Robe into second place on the ladder after a solid 28-point victory.

The Demons were always in control of the contest, after opening a handy 20-point advantage at the first break.

They then extended it by the long break, but by just one point as the Roosters began to find a bit of run.

However, after the break the Demons came out and put paid to any come-back from the visitors, with four major scores to just one.

Robe took on the challenge in the final stanza and closed the margin by eight points, but it was all about the home side as the Demons ran out emphatic victors.

Jake Turner and Brandon Newton kicked four goals each for the victors, while Dylan Bromley added two.

Robe’s Jack Sneath topped the score sheets with six majors, but it was not enough to keep his side in the hunt, while Billy Laurie added two.

Hatherleigh 14.14 (98) d Mount Burr 3.11 (29)

It was one-way traffic at Mount Burr as Hatherleigh dominated the home side.

The opening term set the scene, as the visitors kicked out to a handy 31-point advantage and went on from there.

The Mozzies could only manage two behinds in the opening term and while they improved on that in the second, with two goals, it was not enough to make a dent in the deficit, as the Eagles extended their lead to 32 points.

The third term saw the Eagles add another four majors while holding the home side to just two behinds and the game was done and dusted.

Sam Telfer kicked five goals for the victors, Jake Wight three, with Louis Brown and Jake Dowdy adding two each.

Tantanoola 24.14 (158) d Nangwarry 7.10 (52)

Tantanoola added another victory to a tough season, with a dominant win over Nangwarry.

The Tigers were in control from the outset and even a six-goal haul from Saints coach Luke Thomson was not enough to keep the visitors in the game.

Thomson was the only multiple goal kicker for the Saints, while the Tigers had a day out.

Cameron Saint topped the list with four, while Roy Osborne, Jak Ryan and Troy Hatt all kicked three.

Alec Roberts, Brandon Pitts, Marc Roberts, Chris Oliver and Hayden Brown contributed two each.
