HARD working East Gambier player Tarsh McCallum became the second Bulldog to hit the 300 game mark in the Western Border Netball Association last round against Millicent at McDonald Park.

McCallum worked her way through junior ranks at East before she headed to Adelaide for study.

She has since returned to co-coach the A Grade side.

Her step up to the role has helped the Bulldogs return to finals contention after a few seasons in the wilderness.

She has filled a number of roles in her time, such as a committee member, a junior coach and a star player on the court.

McCallum is respected by all opposition teams and has been selected in the Western Border team of the year three times – in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Her attention to detail in match preparation for herself and her team mates on match day is second to none, which has brought a new level of professionalism to the Bulldogs, resulting in the side competing in two of the past four grand finals.

As a mid-court player, her pace, creative passing and willingness to run all day stands out, displaying plenty of leadership on and off the court, which has also been critical for the Bulldogs in recent seasons.

McCallum represented the Western Border association at junior level and is set to be a senior representative going forward.

In 2004 she was part of the Under 13 team, which won the SA Country Championships and the Western Zone Championship.

McCallum is a dedicated player with an impressive work ethic and commitment to her club, which has followed in the vain as her mother, current East Gambier Netball Club president Bronwyn McCallum.
