A SIGNIFICANT milestone was reached during Saturday’s Port MacDonnell and Nangwarry Mid South East Netball clash, as Demons’ Toni-Lee Gilmore played her 400th game for the club.

Gilmore debuted back in 1991 and has progressed through the ranks to be known as one of the best netballers to ever grace the courts of Port MacDonnell Netball Club.

At age 15, she played her first A Grade game and has grown to be a consistent member of the side since, aside from a three-year stint at North Gambier and a missed season while travelling.

Gilmore is the only person to play in three Port MacDonnell A Grade premiership sides and multiple runner-up premiership teams.

She has won many accolades for the club including several best and fairest, runner-up best and fairest and most outstanding achievers awards, which led to her being awarded life membership in 2016.

Gilmore has also been named the league’s runner-up and best and fairest twice each, accompanied by several top 10 finishes and has played for several inter-league sides in both junior and senior grades.

This season, Gilmore continues to be a regular fixture in the A Grade side, stepping up to a co-coaching role.
