LAST month 26 Grant High School students were put through their paces during three elite coaching sessions run by Touch Football SA.

A package delivered under a Sporting Schools Grant, Touch Football SA field officer Jake Milne and international touch football referee Damien Carlson ran three one-hour sessions.

Students had the opportunity to participate in a Level 1 referee course on Wednesday night and attend training on Thursday.

The majority of students involved will represent the school in the local touch football competition when the season starts next week.

The training sessions focused on drills to develop specific skills and provided insight about positioning, tactics and how to implement both during a game type situation.

Milne said he was “extremely impressed” with the skills on display and predicted the Grant High School team will be competitive in this seasons competition.
