THE Mount Gambier Gun Club hosted the 2018 Eastern Zone clay target shooting carnival recently.
Competitors from Mount Gambier, Kingston, Lake Albert, Wilkawatt and Bordertown were all in attendance.
The first event was the 25 Target Pointscore Championship with shoot offs needed to determine the winners.
Ashley Hawker took the overall honours with 104 successful shots from 105 attempts, followed by Tom Jenkins for AA Grade.
The 25 Target Single Barrel Championship saw Dougal Simson secure the overall on 27/27, ahead of Ashley Hawker in AA Grade.
The last event was the 25 Target Double Barrel Championship.
After a shoot off Michael Raper claimed the overall victory on a perfect 75/75, followed by AA Grade’s Allan Pollock.
Another shoot off saw Thomas Jenkins take out the overall honours on 133/135, ahead of Ashley Hawker.
Shooters were then selected for Eastern Zone teams for the SA State Nationals.
