Mount Burr v Kalangadoo

IT is hard to mount a case for Mount Burr who will face the reigning Mid South East Netball Association premiers Kalangadoo this weekend.

The Magpies are coming off a tough game against Hatherleigh, while the Mozzies would be disappointed with their slim three-goal loss to Glencoe.

Both sides have a mixture of youth and experience, but it is unlikely Kalangadoo will allow Mount Burr to keep in the contest.

For the Mozzies it will be crucial they stop the tough goalie combination of Abbey Duncan and Melissa Russell.

Ann Guyett will have the task of facing Russell in what will be an intriguing one-on-one battle.

Another interesting match-up will be between Jayde Peacock and Laura Schultz through the centre.

The Magpies are fortunate to have depth throughout A Reserve to fill any voids throughout the season and that was shown last weekend against Hatherleigh.

It is unlikely Mount Burr will be able to keep up with the polished Kalangadoo side.

Tantanoola v Glencoe

AFTER a three-goal loss to Hatherleigh in Round 1 and a three-goal win to Mount Burr in game two, Glencoe will hope to start strong and put its Mid South East netball clash with Tantanoola beyond doubt early.

However, the Tigers will be no easy feat coming off a confidence boosting win over Kongorong.

Emma Gould started her season well with Tantanoola and combined well with Jamie Walker.

They will come up against a tough defensive duo in Caitlin Liebich and Sarah Edwards.

Both work hard for the intercept and will force their opponents to work hard for possession.

At the other end of the court Olivia Fuller will match up on Ebony McDiarmid.

This clash will be tough as both players are equally matched height-wise and neither give an inch.

It will all come down to who can deliver into the circle with accuracy.

The side who minimises turnovers and patiently transitions the ball into attack will come out on top.

Port MacDonnell v Robe

THE coastal sides will go head-to-head this weekend at the Bay in what is an intriguing match.

Port MacDonnell will be eager for another win, but Robe will be no easy feat as it will have fresh legs, coming off the bye.

The Demons’ Libby Howe-Morgan had a consistent game against Nangwarry last week, but she will line up on the hard working Kim Ross on Saturday.

Megan Hein is a play-maker for Port MacDonnell and has adjusted to her shift into the goal circle with ease.

Hein’s combination with Sophie Roach has the ability to shift the momentum the Demons’ way.

However, the duo will not underestimate Robe’s defensive intensity.

The Roosters have always been tough to break, but they will need to capitalise on their turnovers if they are to come close to Port MacDonnell on its home court.

Hatherleigh v Nangwarry

AFTER a disappointing loss to Kalangadoo, Hatherleigh will be hungry for a win over Nangwarry.

The Eagles had their chances against the Magpies last weekend, with Kirsty Egan having to use every player at her disposal to gain the upper-hand.

Maddie Pulmer has made a welcomed return to Hatherleigh’s goal circle and she will keep Cassie Dinnsion busy.

Chloe Vanderhorst will do her best to stop Sarah Faulkner’s drive through the centre.

However, Faulkner has the assistance of Kelsey Wight at wing attack who runs hard and patiently feeds into Pulmer and Keston Green, which will make turnovers difficult to come by for the Saints.

One of the keys to success for the Eagles will be limiting the influence of Nangwarry goal attack Malinda Markiewicz.

If Hatherleigh can do that, it should run away with a convincing win.
