MOUNT Gambier RSL and District Bowling Club’s Kym Franklin, Jane Crowder, Shirley McIntyre and skipper Fiona Pearson claimed the Women’s Championship Fours competition recently.
With all positions bowling well, they accounted for Lyn Chirgwin’s team 18-10, then Maryke Heaver’s 9-6 and finally Eileen Cruise’s 14-9.
This was the first time any of the women had won the championship fours before.
They will now go on to play the Champion of Champion Fours at Mount Gambier Bowls Club on Sunday, March 25, the day after the Lower South East Bowling Association Saturday Open Pennant grand final.
