Mount Gambier RSL Red 92/16 d Kalangadoo 52/0

SATURDAY saw the Mount Gambier RSL Division 1 Red team host Kalangadoo for a solid win.

Despite the guests being competitive, the RSL dominated the second half to claim wins on all three rinks, along with the overall honours.

Jason Kuring, Peter Roachock, Neil Tobin and Rex Heins were unstoppable on their rink, as they claimed a convincing 39-14 win over Nick Hunt, Peter Hawke, Peter Lowe and Graham Casey, a score which included two sixes.

Further along the green, Jamie Lambert, Michael Fox, Ralph Stafford and Graham Ellis had a much closer game against Andre Carlson, Phillip Mules, Trevor Auld and Wayne Dowdell.

Going neck-and-neck all game, the dropping of a six on the 17th end could have brought the RSL undone, but it clawed back and crossed the line with a 25-21 victory.

Playing between the other two teams, Robert Corner, Deane Wilkinson, Chris Waugh andy Ashby were unable to shake off Darryl Hennessey, Keith Dowdell, Gavin Rowe and Kym Stewart.

This was until the later stages of the game, where they pushed ahead for an eventual 28-17 win.
