Knife wielded in home break-in

A MAN of no fixed address was arrested after he forced entry into a Tarpeena home armed with a knife and assaulted the occupant.

The 27-year-old man – who was brandishing a knife – broke into the home at around 9pm on Friday evening.

He attacked the man inside the house causing him superficial injuries.

The incident was reported to police a short time later and a description of the offender was provided

Police attended Tarpeena and on the way they located a man matching the description and he was arrested.

Limestone Coast Police officer in charge Superintendent Phil Hoff said the man provided a false name to officers upon his arrest.

The man was refused bail and was transported to Mount Gambier Hospital after potential mental health issues were detected.
