Two South East women have partnered to bring a new and interesting exhibition to life.

Artist Chrissy Pudney has been working with Caroline Hills winery owner Helen Strickland to bring a joint exhibition Rolling in the Deep to the region.

Ms Pudney, who has a strong affinity for the sea and rescues what many would see as rubbish to make her pieces, makes whimsical weavings to form vessels from rope and twine.

She said showing at the Yahl cellar door in partnership with Ms Strickland was a good fit.

“It’s a good fit to exhibit at Caroline Hills as we share excitement for the environment and for the arts,” she said.

While Ms Strickland, a potter who has recently reignited her passion for high fired ceramics, said she was also excited to display her creations which would be fired in the large wood fired kiln at Caroline Hills.

“Whether it’s working with rope, twine, clay, plants or grapes, the process of creating something beautiful and unique is very satisfying,” she said.

The exhibition will be opened by District Council of Grant mayor Kylie Boston on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 5.30pm at the Caroline Hills Cellar Door, and will be on display until Tuesday, April 30.
