Allendale East Public Hall will come alive to the sound of folk music when Australian singer Clare Anne Taylor comes to town.

Taylor will perform at the local hall for the second time as she makes her way around Australia on tour for her new album Giving It Away.

Hall president Richard Ferguson said it was a “great big boost” for the town.

“She came down six years ago now to the Allendale Hall as part of the Festival of Small Halls,” he said.

“I don’t know a lot about music, but I do know she is up a few levels.”

Taylor said she was blown away by the Allendale East community when she visited for the festival and was looking forward to coming back.

“It always stood out in my memory,” she said.

“I think this sense of ‘community’ is one of my favourite things about performing in small halls.”

Mr Ferguson said Allendale East provided the perfect stop over before Taylor hit the Victorian leg of the tour.

Growing up in rural Tasmania, Taylor said it was important for her to share her music with rural towns when she toured.

“My music tends to connect with country audiences and I love bringing music to places that don’t often get it,” she said.

“My band and I are so excited to share this new album with the community of Allendale East.”

The event will be held on February 17 from 7pm, for tickets and more information visit trybooking.com/events/landing/1143676?
