There are mixed emotions as Year 12 students around the state wait for their exam results to be released.

Two Mount Gambier High School students have shared their feelings ahead of receiving their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) results next week.

Alice Tentye and Cooper Sneddon both hope to receive an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank

(ATAR) in the 90s and are patiently awaiting the Monday, December 18, announcement.

Alice, who studied maths, English, psychology and physical education, said she thought SACE was a good system.

“I think the SACE system works well, because it allows students to put in the effort and apply themselves throughout the year,” she said.

“It’s a fair marking system and it actually shows what students are capable of.”

She has had a successful school career and planned to take a gap year before hopefully studying physiotherapy and occupational therapy at the University of South Australia.

Cooper said he had worked hard through the year to produce good quality work.

“Working that extra step you have to have to get the A grade,” he said.

Through Year 12 Cooper studied maths, society and culture, psychology and English, and he hoped to study psychology at Deakin University or the University of South Australia.
