Grant High School

Teachers Scott Cram and Jo Fisher with 17 students headed to Melbourne to participate in the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Carcase (Hoof and Hook) and Led Steer Competition recently.

Grant High School entered five steers, an Angus, Murray Grey, Speckled Park X, Simmental X and a Limousin, into competition and 11 students in the Handler’s Competition.

Congratulations to all the paraders, they looked fabulous on the day and handled their steers very well.

Mr Cram and Ms Fisher congratulated the students on how hard they worked to prepare the steers for competition, especially as the days were long.

They said students interacted well with the public, answering the many questions asked, and closely watched the young children who were encouraged to “pat” the steers.

Grant High School was awarded the Bott Burston Trophy for the Most Successful School or College Exhibitor.

There were 14 Schools/Colleges participating in the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show Beef Led Steer Competition.
