BROKEN Bay, a crime novel set around sinkholes in the Limestone Coast, has just been released and best-selling Victorian author will visit Mount Gambier/ Berrin to launch her new book.

Mount Gambier Library team leader programs Kristi Brooks said local readers would connect to the material as it described a familiar landscape.

“Set here in the Limestone Coast, Broken Bay is a chilling crime novel that will have your heart racing as you connect to the descriptive landscape and the alluring danger of the world-class cave diving that we are known for,” she said.

“Margaret’s writing is descriptive and compelling, as she delves into the alien and eerie world of cave diving, the dangers of nitrogen narcosis, the martini effects and the bends, and the undiscovered beauty that lies beneath our feet.”

The book is set around Detective Sergeant Mark Ariti who has taken a few days’ holiday on the Limestone Coast and Renowned cave diver Mya Rennik who drowned while exploring a sinkhole.

Retrieving Maya’s body uncovers the mystery of the disappearance of a young local woman some twenty years before and Mark’s holiday is cut short as he delves into he town’s history.

The event will take place at the Riddoch Art’s and Cultural Centre on Tuesday, June 27, from 7pm, supper is provided and bookings are essential.
