Le Haus of Butt will again put on a show to remember when they take to the stage as part of the Mount Gambier Fringe Festival.

Tristan McDonnell, who performs in drag as Ophelia Butt, said Fringe was their favourite time of year and they had been preparing the show The Blue Balls for about six months.

“The theme is into the deep blue so I wanted to essentially create a theme around the colour blue,” they said.

McDonnell said the colour blue enamoured them and they wanted to shove as much blue into the show as they could.

“I always love doing stupid, sexy, raunchy, and everybody knows the inclination of blue balls of course, so it sort of made sense to go that way, we do adult shows so it’s ok to do those kinds of things,” they said.

“It’s just Fringe stupidity really.”

They said there would be a mix of comedy, high energy acts and thrill to keep attendees entertained.

McDonnell said they were thinking of doing a few fun and out of the ordinary things that would remind people of their childhood while keeping with the underwater theme.

“Everybody’s numbers sound really high energy, it’s going to be a high energy night,” they said.

Outside of their show, McDonnell said they were looking forward to getting out and about over the Fringe period.

“I am so happy to see so much involvement happening,” they said.

“It’s a really good excuse to let loose, that’s what I always say when it comes to Fringe.”

Attending the Adelaide Fringe growing up, McDonnell knew they would one day perform in Fringe shows.

“Even before I realised I wanted to drag I knew I wanted to perform in Fringe festivals,” they said.

“It’s a fun and silly time and that’s what I want to make The Blue Ball about.”

Le Haus of Butt will perform The Blue Ball at Metro Cafe on April 1, for information check out their Facebook page.
