ON a pleasant 24 degree day, 54 SE Veterans golfers ventured north to Bordertown and found the course in immaculate condition.

Division 1 was won by Millicent’s Bill Mullan with 35 points, from Geoff Cameron also from Millicent with 34 and Rob Harkness with 33 on a count-back.

In Division 2 it was the trio who played with Bob Davies who took out the top places.

Local David Lowe had 39, Beachport’s Chris Carr 37 and Mount Gambier’s Max Clifford 35.

Davies duck-hooked his first two drives into scrub and proceeded to score seven points for the first nine.

Good composure was shown by the trio.

The Ross Orchard trophy went to Mike Atwell and Russ Lingham.

Alan Schultz continued his habit of winning the Scotch.

The ball rundown was to 27 points.

Next week 60 people will venture off to the Riverland for the annual getaway week and then resume at Beachport on May 6.

From there it is a trip across the border to Victoria for challenge games at Harrow and Casterton.
