Further details on Princes upgrade released

Roadworks may be a regular site on the Princes Highway over the next year.

PRINCES Highway upgrades are expected to go to tender this month, after it was announced that upgrades would finally be coming to the Limestone Coast.

Audio tactical line marking between Kingston and Mount Gambier has been added to the list of upgrades in the region, which include roundabout upgrades, overtaking extensions and intersection upgrades.

A representative from the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) said the project will go to tender soon.

“Design works for the full program of upgrade works between Meningie and the South Australian border are continuing,” the DIT representative said.

“The first package of works between south of Millicent and just south of Meningie is expected to go to tender mid-March 2022, with early works planned to commence in mid-2022, subject to weather.”

Upgrades are expected to continue into 2023.
