MILLICENT’S Rotunda will have new lights installed this year in a project aimed to have the historic structure lit up like the Elder Park rotunda in Adelaide.
To be undertaken by Wattle Range Council, the $33,000 project will also include repairs to the rotunda.
A report from Council staff to Council’s December meeting, in response to a question from Councillor John Drew, said up-lights would be installed to highlight the rotunda’s fretwork and ornate ceiling, and roof lighting may also be installed.
“This lighting proposal will occur after the completion of [repairs to] the fret work, power upgrade and addressing the concrete,” the report said.
The works are anticipated to occur after Easter.
