Boosters in big demand along Limestone Coast

LIMESTONE Coast residents are able to book in for their Covid-19 booster shots four months after their second dose of an approved vaccine.

For those aged 18 years and over, bookings are open across the region for the third dose with those aged 5 to 11 able to be vaccinated as of January 10.

In a statement provided to The Border Watch, the Limestone Coast Local Health Network said it had seen an increase in bookings for the third dose.

“To assist with the demand we are securing additional staffing to help support and deliver the booster rollout,” the statement said.

It comes following Penola’s Covid vaccination clinic reaching its capacity with residents from the area not able to book in.

“We encourage people to book their booster appointment at the Naracoorte, Mount Gambier and Millicent Covid vaccination clinics,” the health network said.

Selected general practitioners, respiratory clinics and pharmacies will also be able to vaccinate those aged 5 to 11 once vaccinations are available.

Bookings for booster appointments are essential and can be made by visiting the SA Health website and following the prompts.
