NOMINATIONS are now open for the annual Australia Day Awards program with Wattle Range Council calling on the community to recognise the achievements of others.

The national theme of the 2022 awards is ‘Reflect, Respect, Celevrate’ with Australian communities expected to celebrate the achievements and contributions of outstanding community members.

“Nominations are now open for Citizen, Young Citizen, Community Event and Active Citizenship of the Year Awards,” Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll said.

“The latter award recognises outstanding work in the past year where the person is not required to be an Australian citizen.”

Mr Noll said it was a great honour to be nominated with the awards providing an opportunity to “recognise the outstanding contribution and community service” by dedicated individuals in a wide range of fields.

Nominations can be made for each of the council’s four wards in Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Active Citizenship.

Nominations are open until November 24 at 5pm.

Forms can be completed either online or in hard copy and are available at any of Council’s offices or from the website.
