Alleged thief held in custody

THE man accused of the aggravated robbery of a Millicent service station in October has been remanded in custody.

The 25-year-old from the Adelaide suburb of Plympton was arrested on Friday, refused bail by police and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

He will return to court on April 16.

Police arrested the man following an investigation into the robbery, which allegedly occurred at the Billygoat Corner premises at dawn on October 7.

According to police, just after 5.30am, two men entered the service station on Mount Gambier Road and one man threatened a staff member with a knife, before stealing the cash till.

Investigations are continuing in relation to the other suspect.
