Chief executive sings mill praise

GRANT District Council has congratulated Timberlink for its proposed significant investment to upgrade its processing facility at Tarpeena.

This comes as the project will be one of the largest single investments ever poured into a processing facility within the district.

The investment is expected to be a major boost for the Tarpeena community, which has been struggling with the loss of sporting clubs and its school.

The project will create an economic boon for regional contractors as well as employment growth.

“It is great news for Tarpeena and for our region,” council chief executive officer David Singe said.

“Council applauds the confidence shown by the company in the future of our region.”

Mr Singe also welcomed the additional jobs the project would create during construction, as well as the direct and indirect jobs that would be secured through increased production capacity and increased productivity.

“Council looks forward to continuing to work with Timberlink wherever possible to progress the upgrade,” Mr Singe said.
