Cricket club receives funds boost

KONGORONG Cricket Club is set to receive a funding boost and new equipment as the recipient of CommBank Cricket Club sponsorship.

Now in its fourth year, the sponsorship program provides local clubs with two years of funding worth $2000 a year, along with new equipment for training and matches.

Commonwealth Bank is Cricket Australia’s longest-standing partner and through its sponsorship supports more players – grassroots, multicultural, indigenous, people with disability or elite females – to the pitch.

The program has awarded more than one million dollars in grants and cricket gear to 395 local cricket clubs in the past five years.

“We are thrilled to be supporting Kongorong Cricket Club,” Commonwealth Bank Mount Gambier branch manager Louise Cronin said.

“They provide opportunities for our local cricketers to develop their skills and the club also plays an important role in our community.”

Applications for the latest round of CommBank Cricket Club sponsorships will open in November.

Visit www.commbank.com.au/cricket to apply.
