Official fire danger season comes to an end

THE fire danger season for 2017/18 has ended in the Lower South East, with the South Australian Country Fire Service confirming the conclusion of the season on Monday.

Fire restrictions will no longer apply in the region until the start of the next season.

The Mount Lofty Ranges is now the only region where a fire ban is still in place after the season there was extended by 15 days.

The South Australian CFS encouraged people in the Lower South East to revisit their bushfire action plans and begin planning for the next fire season.

People in the community are also reminded that a total fire ban may also be declared outside the fire danger season and in this event a permit will be required and may be obtained from local councils.
