Playwright to share writing knowledge

ACCLAIMED playwright Nathan Maynard will run a writers workshop in Mount Gambier on May 4.

Playwright of The Season, Maynard is a descendant of the chief of the Trawlwoolway Clan and of the North East Tasmanian Indigenous peoples.

He has 17 years experience as a dancer, performer and writer and was the recipient of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Artist of the Year Award in 2006 and 2013.

He won the Green Room Award for Best New Writing for The Season – his first full length play.

Mr Maynard is eager to share his experience and knowledge with writers and will run engagement opportunities across the state.

Join him for the writers workshop, a fireside yarn or to play the Gumnuts to Buttons board game.

Participation is free.

A Journey with Nathan Maynard will kick off at Pangula Mannamurna from 10am on May 4 with the Gumnuts to Buttons Game.

A sausage sizzle lunch from 12.30pm will be followed by the playwriting workshop at 1.30pm.
