Anglican senior bishop visits region

THE Australian Anglican Primate, the Right Reverend Dr Philip Freier, will visit Mount Gambier this weekend during his only visit to a parish in South Australia.

A Prayer for World Peace will be held on Saturday in the main hall of Christ Church on Bay Road from 9am.

The prayer will be led by the Right Rev Dr Philip Freier and will be open to Mount Gambier and district residents.

A day of parish gatherings will follow, with the primate set to visit Saint Luke’s Anglican Church in Mount Schank and Saint Thomas’ Anglican Church in Port MacDonnell.

At 7pm on Saturday, the primate will hold a forum at Christ Church where parishioners can ask the reverend about any aspects of the Anglican church.

The forum will be followed by evening prayer.

The main church service will be held at 9.30am on Sunday, when the primate will lead a sung Eucharist and confirmations.
