Scholarships awarded to regional tertiary students

THE Cowan Grant Trust has released its scholarship funding allocations for 2018.

Three South Australian tertiary organisations will be given funding totalling $145,000 to provide scholarships and grants to selected tertiary students, with preference given to rural and regional students.

Funds will be provided to UniSA to assist selected Mount Gambier students and funds will also be allocated to the James Morrison Academy of Music to assist academy students based in Mount Gambier.

UniSA will also receive an allocation for one student to experience a 12-day voyage on Australia’s sail training ship the Young Endeavour.

The Cowan Trust has allocated funds to St. Mark’s College each year since 1994.

The residential college, located in North Adelaide, awards grants to rural students to help with boarding costs at the college.

One research grant will be given to a post-graduate student accessing the University of Adelaide’s Barr Smith Library.

The Elder Conservatorium of Music will also be funded to give a number of grants to selected rural students.
