South Australia business confidence booms

BUSINESS confidence in South Australia is the highest in the nation, according to NAB’s quarterly business survey.

The survey found that business confidence in South Australia also improved by the largest amount in the country, up five points compared to the previous quarter.

The report follows last week’s Deloitte Access Economics report, which found small business confidence in SA is at its best since 2013 and the new business survival rate is higher than in any other state.

The Deloitte report also found SA’s full-time employment growth was better than any other state last quarter.

Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis said the NAB quarterly report showed positive signs for employment growth across the state.

“This report is the latest in a string of economic reports that have shown South Australia’s economy is outperforming other states,” he said.

“Our economy suffered a serious shock with the exit of the Holden, however rather than sit back and let the free market reign, the State Government has stepped in with our Future Jobs Fund and

Job Accelerator grants to help thousands of local businesses grow and create jobs.

“Jobs are Labor’s number one priority and Labor will continue to invest in infrastructure and partner with local businesses to grow our economy and create local jobs.”
