Penola author launches debut novel

CELEBRATING: Author Ann Jones at the launch of her recently published novel Tempting the Temp.

PENOLA author Ann Jones recently launched her first novel Tempting the Temp at the Penola Library, celebrating with more than 40 of the town’s book lovers.

Teacher and librarian Rob Thornett welcomed literacy loving attendees to listen to the insights of Ms Jones’ mentor, Alison Brash.

Ms Brash encouraged the author to publish Tempting the Temp and was delighted to introduce Ms Jones to the gathering.

“The novel offers rich subject matter and allows readers to enjoy escapism and celebrate the return of romance and the romantics,” Ms Brash said.

Ms Jones enthralled those present with the story of her journey with Tempting the Temp from when she was hit by a “lightning bolt of creativity” to the thrill of being published by British publishing house Austin MacCauley.

After formalities were completed for the evening, the gathering then paid homage to Ms Jones’ British publishers by joining together for a traditional high tea.

Ms Jones signed and sold all copies of her book available on the evening and received orders for more.

Her book will be available to borrow through the Public Libraries of South Australia.

Future signing events will be held at the Millicent Public Library and other libraries to follow.

Interested readers can place their orders for Tempting the Temp with Ms Jones or visit the Penola Library to place their name on the reservations list.
